'Unravelling' is Villareal's fourth studio album and was originally released in 2013. The band decided to follow their heart and delve into a truly late night experience. Citing Talk Talk, David Sylvian and Wilco as inspirations the songs were pieced toggether in various late night recording sessions with contributors asked to add parts with only the most basic of musical information!

US tastemakers DIVIDE AND CONQUER loved the album and rated it 4.3/5, read the review by following the link below:

about

'Orange Host' is another of those songs that was always going to be the first track on a Villareal album. I wrote a lot of these songs in a remote log cabin in the New Forest area of Hampshire and I constantly referred to this track for mood and vibe.
I was listening to David Sylvian's 'Secrets Of The Beehive' record and also Talk Talk's 'Spirit Of Eden' both were released in the late 1980's, but both sound(ed) totally unlike other albums made in this era. And it was that out of time quality I was looking for with Villareal's fourth album.

lyrics

Start at the end of the book
It takes too long to work out who are the crooks
The host is a flame in the night
Guiding me away from the rocks and the tide

Start at the end of the line
In a station closed since the dawning of time
My face fallen into the sea
Shows itself again in a river downstream
