Just Like An Aeroplane

from Spook Frequency by Villareal

/

about

Shifty Disco records released 'Aeroplanes' as a single in 2005, via their respected Singles Club downloads. Grab it for free here. It features some of producer Phil Vinal's (Auteurs, Elastica, Zoe) best work on our album.
It was great fun working with Phil and his collection of 1940's ex-BBC vintage valve effects units. Praise be to engineer Rowland Prytherch who also turned in a blinder.

lyrics

Tell that joke again
Think I'll go insane
You're so beautiful
But you're not in my tree
Just like an aeroplane
You're up and down again
But where you're going to
I guess you just couldn't know
Say what you mean-everything is nothing without you
Should I retreat?
When it's all wrapped up in circles for me

Chorus

Was there ever a way the starts shone without you?
Was there ever a day that i could forget you?

Just like an aeroplane
You're up and down again
Too high to feel the pain
And you're not in my tree
You fall apart in rain
You wish the world away
Hey I'm so dutiful
Can't find the words to explain

Say what you mean everything is nothing without you
Should I retreat?
When it's all wrapped up in circles for me

Repeat Chorus

You let me know that I'm on a different planet to you
You yeah I know
Cos you let me know I'm on a different planet
Yeah I know-I'm on a different planet to you
