    FOUR FRAGMENTS

    1. LOW CLOUD REVISITS (taken from the album 'Unravelling')
    2. ORANGE HOST (taken from the album 'Unravelling')
    3. HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS (taken from the Lightning Dept album 'Things Keep Blowing Up')
    4. THE 7TH (taken from the 'Blue Snakes' album)

Recorded at Simon's house by guitarist Jim, we put these songs together in just seven hours. There are usually three years between Villareal album releases, so we wanted to put up some acoustic versions of songs to complementthose included on the albums.
*Special thanks to the artist JAMES MARSH for supplying new images to compliment this release. I still can't believe that the guy behind all those amazing Talk Talk records has now designed for Villareal as well!

So, a little about these tracks

LOW CLOUD REVISITS has changed slightly since the album version, mainly because Jim finally gets to play guitar on the track! As we didn't want 'Unravelling' to be ALL about two guitars slugging it out, Jim sat out of various tracks-like a true gent. So on this version we get to hear what he would have bought to the party had Simon let him!

ORANGE HOST is also fairly different to the version found on 'Unravelling' as it now centres around Jim's playing. Again, he was not involved on the album version, so it is interesting to hear the difference between the two versions.

HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS first appeared on our side-project LIGHTNING DEPT 'Things Keep Blowing Up'. We thought it would make an interesting addition to the Villareal catalog and are very happy with the results, once shorn of distorted guitars and pounding drums!

THE 7TH was the lead-off single from the bands 2007 'Blue Snakes' album and is the song that Jim and Simon have been playing for the longest amount of time-although NEVER in an acoustic style. It isn't that much different to the album version-but it DOES have a certain something...

    Enjoy!

Huey Lewis and the News Sitting in your car with a pregnancy kit I kind of get the feeling this is really it And all that I can hear above the early evening gloom Is that common refrain of a Huey Lewis tune...Huey Lewis There was nothing that I could say Nothing that I could do Because we are born to make our own decisions We are bound to take the wrong decision it's true Now twenty years later and you've bought a new car And you're living with this fella who'se got a bad heart And all that I can hera above his early forties boom Is that common refrain of a Huey Lewis tune...he's Huey Lewis There was nothing that we could say Nothing that we could do We are born to make the wrong decisions We are bound to take the wrong decisions It's true Words & Music Simon Parker 2015
